Cementitious Adhesive, also known as Vetorep CR523, is a ready-to-use cementitious fairing coat that is changed by a single component polymer and just needs water added on location. Vetorep CR523 is a smooth paste that works well with host concrete to repair surface flaws up to a thickness of 3 mm when combined. To give Vetorep CR523 its distinct qualities, a combination of hydraulic cement, precisely chosen fine fillers, and special additives is used.

Storage & Shelf Life

Vetorep CR523 in its original unopened bag has a 12-month shelf life if kept out of the ground in a dry, shady, and temperature-controlled environment that isn’t warmer than 35ºC.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be clean, sound, and  uncontaminated before the application of  Vetorep  CR523. Clean the prepared area thoroughly by using a  brush and/or compressed air. Soak the prepared with  water immediately before the application of Vetorep  CR523.

Design Criteria

Vetorep CR523 cementitious fairing coat is designed  for vertical and overhead use to infill honeycombing  and voids up to 3 mm deep in the surface of concrete.  It can also be applied as a render from a feather-edge  up to 3 mm thick and as blowhole filler up to 10 mm  deep and 3mm wide.

Mixing

To ensure proper mixing, use a mechanical power mixer  or drill fitted with a suitable paddle. However, for small  quantities, Vetorep CR523 can be hand mixed using the  proper tools and bucket.

Pour 7 – 8.5 liter of fresh water into a clean container,  then add the powder slowly to the water while mixing  continuously with a low-speed mixer/drill (400 – 600  rpm). Continue mixing for 3 minutes until obtaining  a uniform consistency. Leave the mixture for 5 – 10  minutes to mature and then remix for 30 – 60 seconds  without adding further water.

To enhance the scratch resistance of Vetorep CR523, we  advise adding Vetobond PB434. Consult your Saveto  representative for further information.

Placing and Finishing

Apply Vetorep CR523 by using a steel trowel. Apply  the mixed mortar to the prepared substrates up to a  thickness of 3mm. Allow the applied mortar to stiffen  before trowelling to a smooth finish.

Blowhole or bug holes might have a larger size, so to  ensure the well filling and the right repair of the hole  (if it is more the 5mm deep and wide), fill the cavities  gradually.

Curing

Vetorep CR523 does not require curing in normal  ambient conditions. In harsh weather conditions, such  as high wind and temperatures, it is recommended to  cure it with Vetobond AB432

Cleaning

Clean all tools immediately after application using fresh  water. Clean hardened materials mechanically.

Packaging & Coverage

Stated consumption data are for general guidance.  Actual consumption depends on the nature of  substrate, method of application, and wastage.

Shelf Life & Storage

The original sealed bag of Vetorep CR523 has a shelf life  of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a  dry and shaded temperature-controlled place less than  35ºC.
