Portland cement

$65

Vetogrout CG510 is composed of Portland cement, special aggregates, and shrinkage-controlled high-performance additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site, which requires only the addition of clean water to produce a cohesive mix. Vetogrout CG510 is a high-quality product, non-metallic, chloride free, high strength for grouting & anchoring applications. Vetogrout CG510 can be applied generally in thickness from 10 mm to 100 mm for flowable and 5-50 mm as mortar paste.

Description

Uses of Vetogrout CG510

  • Grouting & anchoring structural steel and
    precast concrete members.
  • Filling voids & tie-rod holes.
  • Under-plate grouting & light machine beds.
  • Anchoring a wide range of fixings such as
anchor bolts, stanchion bases, masts, and fence
    posts.

Advantages of Vetogrout CG510 (Portland Cement)

  • Factory-controlled pre-blend ensures
    consistently high quality.
  • Requires only the addition of water on-site at
    the time of usage.
  • Chloride-free, High early & ultimate strength,
and low permeability ensure the durability of
    the hardened grout.
  • High physical and mechanical properties.
  • Non-shrink characteristics.
  • Gaseous expansion system compensates for
shrinkage and settlement in the plastic state.

SHELF LIFE & STORAGE

The original sealed bag of Vetogrout CG510 has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place, at temperatures between 5ºC – 35ºC.

HOW TO USE:

Surface Preparation: Ensure that the surface is clean, solid, and free from any loose materials, grease, dirt, or curing compounds. Wet the surface to make it saturated and dry before applying Vetogrout CG510. Use a hopper system and watertight formwork with polyurethane sealant or rubber gasket seal to prevent leaks. Contact your local Saveto representative for more technical information and detailed instructions.

Clean the base plate from oil, grease, or scale, and provide air pressure relief holes for venting high spots. If using leveling shims, apply a thin layer of grease before removing them after the grout hardens.

Instructions for Use: Mixing: Use a mechanical grout mixer for best results. For quantities up to 50kg, a slow-speed drill with a high shear mixer is suitable. Larger quantities require a high shear vane mixer; avoid colloidal impeller mixers. Ensure sufficient mixing capacity and labor. The water quantity for each 25kg bag varies for different consistencies: Trowel (3-3.25 Liters), Flow (3.5-3.75 Liters), Fluid (4-4.5 Liters). Measure water accurately, add Vetogrout CG510, and mix continuously for 5 minutes for a smooth consistency.

Placing: Place the grout within 20 minutes of mixing at 25ºC to benefit from the expansion process. Vetogrout CG510 can be placed up to 100mm thickness in a single pour as an under-plate grout. For thicker sections, mix with well-graded silt-free aggregate (typically 10mm). Ensure continuous grout flow, preparing sufficient grout before starting, and regulate the pouring time.

Curing: After grouting, cover exposed areas with polyethylene sheets for 24 hours to prevent water evaporation. Cure the grouted area with clean water twice a day for 3 days or use Vetocure XT425, a water-based curing compound.

Cleaning: Clean tools and equipment immediately with clean water after using Vetogrout CG510. Remove cured material mechanically.

Design Considerations

Vetogrout CG510 can be used at thickness between
10 and 100 mm. Vetogrout CG510 can be used in 3
consistencies: Trowellable, Flowable, and fluid states
by slightly adjusting water:powder ratio, the quoted
values above are based on fluid consistency. The
technical properties will vary slightly (positively in
terms of strength)according to the chosen consistency.
When grouting under-plates or machine beds, a hopper
system is needed to ensure enough pressure head
exists for the grout to flow the required travel distance.
It is important to keep unrestrained grout area to a
minimum to avoid cracking.

Standards Compliance

  • ASTM C1107/1107M-14 (previously CRD621) as
    Grade A.
  • ASTM C938-10

Surface Preparation

The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose
material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.
Wet the substrate to achieve a saturated and surface
dry condition before the application of Vetogrout
CG510. Erect hopper system and form-work, make sure
that the shuttering is watertight using a polyurethane
sealant such as Vetofl ex PU780 or a rubber gasket seal.
This step is important to ensure no cement paste and
water leak from the shuttering. Contact your Saveto’s
local representative for more technical information,
Saveto’s grouting detailed method statement, and CAD
details.
The base plate must be clean and free from oil, grease,
or scale. Air pressure relief holes should be provided to
allow venting of any isolated high spots.
If leveling shims are used and removed after the grout
has hardened, they should be treated with a thin layer
of grease.

Unrestrained Surface Area

Generally, the gap width between the perimeter form-
work and the plate edge should not exceed 150 mm on

the pouring side and 50 mm on the opposite side. It is
advisable where practical to have no gap at the flank
sides.

Mixing

For best results, use a mechanically powered grout

mixer. When quantities up to 50kg are used, a slow-
speed drill fitted with a high shear mixer is suitable.

Larger quantities will require a high shear vane mixer.
Do not use a colloidal impeller mixer.
To enable a smooth and continuous grouting operation,
a sufficient mixing capacity and labor should be
available. The application may require a grout holding
tank with a provision to gently agitate the grout.
The quantity of water required for each 25kg bag to
achieve the desired consistency is:
Trowel 3 – 3.25 Liters
Flow 3.5 – 3.75 Liters
Fluid 4 – 4.5 Liters
Measure the selected water content accurately in the
mixer. Slowly add the total contents of the Vetogrout
CG510 bag with continuous mixing for 5 minutes.

This will ensure that the grout has a smooth, even
consistency.

Placing

At 25oC, place the grout within 20 minutes of mixing to
gain the full benefit of the expansion process.
Vetogrout CG510 can be placed in thicknesses up to
100mm in a single pour when used as an under-plate
grout. For thicker sections, it is necessary to fill out
Vetogrout CG510 with well-graded silt-free aggregate
to minimize heat build-up. Typically a 10mm aggregate
is suitable. Any bolt pockets must be grouted before
grouting between the substrate and the base plate.
Continuous grout flow is essential. Prepare sufficient
grout before starting. Regulate the time taken to pour
a batch to the time to prepare the next one.
Curing
Upon completing the grouting process, cover the
exposed areas well with polyethylene sheets to prevent
evaporation of the mixture water for the first 24 hours;
later, cure the grouted area using clean water twice a
day for 3 days. Or you can use the Vetocure XT425, a
water-based curing compound, after placing the grout.
Cleaning
Remove Vetogrout CG510 from tools and equipment
with clean water immediately after use. Remove the
cured material mechanically.
