SHELF LIFE & STORAGE
The original sealed kit of Vetoproof EC720 has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place below 35ºC.
Surface Preparation:
Ensure that all surfaces are dry and free from contaminants such as oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss, algal growth, laitance, and any traces of mold release oils and curing compounds. The best method is to lightly grit-blast the surface. In cases of moss, algae, or similar growth, apply a proprietary biocide after the grit-blasting process. Repair spalled and deeply disintegrated concrete with a Saveto repair system, and use Vetorep ER350 to level minor irregularities and fill pinholes.
Limitations:
Like all epoxies, Vetoproof EC720 will yellow when exposed to UV. Before filling the tank with water, Vetoproof EC720 must be fully cured for 7 days at 20ºC.
Instructions for Use:
Priming:
Priming is generally not required if the substrate is sound, well-prepared, and made of good-quality nonporous concrete. However, for porous concrete surfaces or when the water/cement ratio is >0.5, it is recommended to use Vetoprime EP491 or EP490.
Mix Vetoprime EP491 or EP490 in the supplied proportions by adding the entire contents of the hardener container to the base container. Thoroughly mix using a slow-speed mixer and apply the primer in a thin, continuous film using rollers or stiff brushes. Work the primer into the concrete surface, avoiding ponding or over-application. Allow the primer to become tack-free before applying the topcoat.
Mixing:
In a separate mixing vessel, use a slow-speed mixer to blend the base and hardener for 3 minutes. Mix the components in the supplied quantities, ensuring all containers are scraped clean. Do not add solvent thinners at any time.
Application:
Apply the first coat of Vetoproof EC720 using a short-haired lamb wool roller or airless spray equipment for a continuous coating. Remove loose hairs from the roller before use. Achieve a minimum film thickness of 200 microns per coat. Perpendicularly apply the second coat to the first, ensuring a minimum dry film thickness of 200 microns. Use different colors for each coat to ensure complete coverage.
Cleaning:
Immediately clean tools and equipment with Vetonit Solvent XX400 after use.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces should be dry and free from contamination,
such as oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss
algal growth, laitance, and all traces of mold release oils
and curing compounds. This is best achieved by lightly
grit-blasting the surface. Where moss, algae, or similar
growths have occurred, treatment with a proprietary
biocide should be carried out after the grit-blasting
process. Remove spalled and deeply disintegrated
concrete to sound concrete and repaired with a
Saveto repair system. Use Vetorep ER350 to level minor
irregularities and fill pinhole.
Priming
Priming is not normally required, provided the
substrate is sound, prepared, and good quality
nonporous concrete. However, if the concrete surface
is porous, or the w/c ratio is >0.5, it is recommended to
use Vetoprime EP491 or EP490.
Vetoprime EP491 or EP490 should be mixed in the
proportions supplied. Add the entire contents of
the hardener container to the base container. When
thoroughly mixed, preferably using a slow-speed
mixer, apply the primer in a thin, continuous film using
rollers or stiff brushes. Work the primer well into the
concrete’s surface, taking care to avoid ponding or over
application. Leave the primer to achieve a tack-free
condition before applying the topcoat.
Mixing
In a separate mixing vessel, use a slow-speed mixer to
mix the base and hardener for 3 minutes. Mix these
components in the quantities supplied, make sure that
all containers are scraped clean. Do not add solvent
thinners at any time.
Application
Lay the first coat of Vetoproof EC720 using a short-
haired lamb wool roller or airless spray equipment to
achieve a continuous coating. Ensure removing loose
hairs on the roller before use. Apply a minimum film
thickness of 200 microns per coat. Perpendicularly
apply the second coat to the first coat ensuring a
minimum dry film thickness of 200 microns. It is
recommended to use a different color for each coat to
ensure complete coverage.
Cleaning
Clean tools and equipment with Vetonit Solvent XX400
immediately after use.
Packaging & Coverage
Stated consumption data are for general guidance.
Actual consumption depends on the nature of the
substrate, method of application, and wastage.

Health & Safety
Vetoproof EC720, Vetoprime EP491, Vetoprime EP490,
and Vetonit Solvent XX400 should not contact skin and
eyes or be swallowed. Ensure adequate ventilation and
avoid inhalation of vapors. Some people are sensitive
to resins, hardeners, and solvents. Wear suitable
protective clothing, gloves, and eye protection. If
working in confined areas, use suitable respiratory
protective equipment. The use of barrier creams
provides additional skin protection. In case of skin
contact, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse
with soap and water. Do not use solvent. In contact with
the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water
and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical
attention immediately – Do not induce vomiting.
Vetonit Solvent XX400 is flammable. Keep away from
sources of ignition. No Smoking. In the event of a fire,
extinguish with CO2 or foam.
Vetoproof EC720 and Vetoprime EP491 are non-
flammable.
